Basketball Recap: Pensacola Wins Going Away Against Pine Forest

Pensacola's matchup on Wednesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They were the clear victor by a 55-30 margin over the Pine Forest Eagles. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 23 points or more this season.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Laila Snow, who posted eight points. Snow is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Za'Khiya Shaw-Rease was another key player, putting up five points and 14 boards.

Pensacola has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Pine Forest, they dropped their record down to 8-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

When Pensacola and Pine Forest next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Pensacola will try to stop Booker T. Washington's six-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pine Forest will challenge Florida State University High School and their five-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
