Softball Recap: Littlefield Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Littlefield, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Roosevelt Eagles on Saturday as they made off with an 18-3 win. Considering the Wildcats have won 13 matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Bryndle Ray, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Lopez, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Littlefield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roosevelt only posted an OBP of .467.

Littlefield pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Roosevelt, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.

Coincidentally, Littlefield and Roosevelt will both be playing Slaton the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
