Basketball Recap: Silver Lake Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

If Lawrence-Nelson wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Silver Lake, they should've done a better job of containing Paxton Sorensen. The Silver Lake Mustangs took down the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders 45-28 on Friday thanks in part to Sorensen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Casey Conway was another key player, putting up five points and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played.

Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt Frey, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Cox, who posted three points along with 12 rebounds and three blocks.

Silver Lake is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points per game. As for Lawrence-Nelson, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Silver Lake will take on Kenesaw at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Kenesaw is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season. As for Lawrence-Nelson, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harvard at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
