Slidell is on a seven-game streak of home wins, while Northshore is on a seven-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will welcome the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Slidell's victory against Chalmette wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers never let the Owls get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since February 18th.

Carter Bucholz tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Austin Buell, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Northshore ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fontainebleau, sneaking past 5-3. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since April 2, 2022.
Jacob Neely looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ayden Strecker was excellent, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Carson Malasovich was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Northshore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-4-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Slidell, their victory bumped their record up to 21-8.
Slidell came out on top in a nail-biter against Northshore in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
