Bartram Trail and Buchholz are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Bartram Trail Bears will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Buchholz Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bartram Trail extended their postseason success on Friday against Niceville. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 28-21.
Bartram Trail's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Riley Trujillo, who rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and also threw for 122 yards and two touchdowns. Bartram Trail also got a significant boost from Laython Biddle, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 169 yards.
Meanwhile, Buchholz put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 34-21 victory over Ponte Vedra. Given Buchholz's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Ponte Vedra is ranked 44th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bartram Trail has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Buchholz, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
Bartram Trail was dealt a bruising 44-7 defeat at the hands of Buchholz in their previous matchup back in October. Can Bartram Trail avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
