Tyson Essex was the offensive standout of the contest as he made all 6 shots he took from beyond the arc racking up 20 points and 0 assists. Cale Nelson was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals.
Bertrand's loss came despite strong showings from jc kehr and Marcus Hernandez. kehr scored 9 points, while Hernandez scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
The victory got Loomis back to even at 2-2. As for Bertrand, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Loomis will head out on the road to face off against Cambridge at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Loomis likes a good challenge. As for Bertrand, they will be playing at home against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
