The Classen SAS Comets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Newcastle, falling 78-29. While losing is never fun, Classen SAS can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Newcastle is ranked 25th).
Jackson Bergt was a one-man wrecking crew for Newcastle as he rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 89 yards and three touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Taylor "TJ" Bradford was in the mix too, providing Newcastle with two touchdowns.
Classen SAS's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.3 points per game. As for Newcastle, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Classen SAS will look to defend their home field on Friday against Harrah at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Harrah focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Thursday. As for Newcastle, they will head out on the road to face off against Tuttle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tuttle is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
