Baseball Recap: Field's Run of Ten Straight Wins Now Over

Field dropped their record down to 20-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's ten-game streak of wins. They lost 10-2 to the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since April 27, 2024.

As for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy's part, Kyle Shaw looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Shaw has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Thad Eaton was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ryan Wiehe, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Field will take on Cleveland Central Catholic in a tournament on Thursday. The Ironmen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.23 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against East at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. East will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
