The Broomfield Eagles will square off against the Legacy Lightning at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Broomfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
If Broomfield beats Legacy with 14 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Eagles put the hurt on Fairview with a sharp 14-4 win on Saturday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.
Maverick Scarpella tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brendan Fritch was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Orvis, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Legacy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 14-3 to Erie. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lightning have suffered since March 25th.
Legacy also got a good showing from Hudson Griffith, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time Griffith hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March.
On the hitting side, Legacy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Schoenheider, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Broomfield's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Legacy, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-5.
