Bucyrus is 1-9 against Seneca East since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Redmen will look to defend their home field against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Bucyrus has given up an average of 14 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bucyrus is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Buckeye Central, falling 12-1.
Bucyrus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quinn Ross, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That hit was Ross' first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seneca East). They walked away with a 12-9 win over Vermilion on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Braydon Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Nicolas Parks was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Brady Bloom was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Seneca East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Seneca East's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Bucyrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bucyrus has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Seneca East struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bucyrus might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Seneca East in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Redmen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
