The biggest upset of the week belonged to Riverdale, who took down 181st ranked Riverdale, 38-17. Sage Attwood threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 99 yards in the win.
T.J. Douglas and Roy Denson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against North Fort Myers. The connection was good for 90 yards, the longest such play in 6A District 11 this season.
Denson was the best wideout in the league this week as Ida Baker topped the Raiders. Denson racked up four receptions for 97 yards. Trayvon Clarke helped Ida Baker's passing attack out by catching two balls for 51 yards.
Douglas provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Fort Myers beat the Red Knights. He completed five passes for 143 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 182 yards. Douglas' favorite target this week was Devin Williams, who caught one pass for 60 yards.
Island Coast's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Gators feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kurt Benkert has thrown for 1704 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while T.J. Johnson has 33 catches for 482 yards. Devon Calhoun leads the league in rushing with 854 yards.
A big matchup in 6A District 11 this week will be when the Bulldogs take on the Green Wave. At the moment, Ida Baker is in third, while Fort Myers is in fourth.
Brian Conn's team moved up to 177 from 219 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of besting Riverdale 38-17.
