The Portola Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northwood. While losing is never fun, Portola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 661st, while Northwood is ranked 71st).
It was another big night for Zaid Yunis, who scored 30 points for Northwood. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yunis has scored all season. Ryan Abaye was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Portola's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Northwood, their victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
Portola will be playing at home against Laguna Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laguna Hills is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Northwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Sage Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
