The Gulf Shores Dolphins put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Vigor at home to the tune of 42-12. Considering Gulf Shores has won seven matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Gulf Shores got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kolin Wilson out in front who rushed for 159 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Ronnie Royal, who gained 138 total yards and two touchdowns.
Gulf Shores' win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Vigor, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gulf Shores will take on Rain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rain will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Vigor, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lanier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Lanier is ranked 68th, while Vigor is ranked 45th).
