Progreso is 0-10 against the Bobcats since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Progreso Red Ants will head out on the road to take on the Rio Hondo Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Progreso unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 36-28 to Santa Rosa.
Meanwhile, Rio Hondo was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 43-37 to the Bulldogs. Rio Hondo's loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Emily Molina, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Atkinson, who scored 13 points.
Progreso's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Rio Hondo, their loss ended a 15-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 21-5.
Things could have been worse for Progreso, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to the Bobcats in their previous meeting back in January. Can Progreso avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
