After a string of five wins, the Goleman Gators's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Coral Reef by a score of 39-37.
Goleman lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Akayla Edwards, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Edwards hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Camilia D'lassalas, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Goleman's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Coral Reef, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Goleman will head out on the road to face off against the Bison at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Reagan: they have been struggling with nine straight losses at home, while the Gators have snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Coral Reef is on the road again on Monday and plays the Buccaneers on February 5th.
