The Battle Ground Tigers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Roosevelt on Sunday as Battle Ground made off with a 49-24 win. Battle Ground's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Battle Ground can attribute much of their success to Skylar Fridriksson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fridriksson has scored at least 25% of Battle Ground's points. Another player making a difference was Chelsea Long, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Battle Ground's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Roosevelt, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Battle Ground won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Salem at 10:45 a.m. on December 18th. North Salem is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Roosevelt will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thurston at 6:45 p.m. on December 29th.
