The Byers Lions are taking a road trip to  face off against the Thrasher Rebels  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It was a proper cat-fight when Byers took on North Panola two weeks ago. The Lions had to suffer through  a    33-0 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The loss put an end to the Lions' undefeated start to the season.
Meanwhile,  Thrasher played a tough  matchup  on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were  outmatched by Falkner and fell  54-24. The Rebels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at  35-8.
 Byers will have to contain  Bryton Roberts as he made an impact in Thrasher's last game. He rushed for 138 yards and one  score on only 14 carries, and also threw for 134 yards and a pair of  touchdowns on only 12 passes.
 Having lost for the first time  this season, Byers  fell to 2-1. As for Thrasher, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
 Byers didn't have too much breathing room in their  contest against Thrasher  in their previous meeting  back in August of 2024, but they still walked away with  a  14-8 win.
