Softball Game Preview: Manitowoc Lincoln Ships vs. Pulaski Red Raiders

The Manitowoc Lincoln Ships will head out to square off against the Pulaski Red Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Manitowoc Lincoln made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sheboygan North, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Ships were the clear victors by a 17-7 margin over the Golden Raiders on Thursday.

Taylor Peterson and Jordin Popp did most of the damage at the plate: Peterson scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Popp went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Popp a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Novak, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Pulaski had just enough and edged out Baraboo 6-4 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Raiders.

Addison Luebke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ella Maroszek, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Paige Abendroth, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Pulaski now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Manitowoc Lincoln suffered a grim 13-2 defeat to Pulaski in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Ships avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
