Basketball Recap: Cardinal Newman Skates Past Calusa Prep with Ease

Cardinal Newman had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They breezed by the Calusa Prep Colts to the tune of 65-27. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.

The win got Cardinal Newman back to even at 6-6. As for Calusa Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Cardinal Newman and Tradition Prep will round out the year against one another at at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Cardinal Newman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Tradition Prep likes a good challenge. Calusa Prep has already played their next match, a 59-57 defeat against Palm Beach Gardens on the 28th.
