The Millard Eagles will take on the Manti Templars at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Millard has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Millard took an 18-run defeat the last time they faced off against South Sevier, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 13-11. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Bodie Memmott was excellent, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2025. Cyson Kunz was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Manti entered their game against North Sanpete on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Templars fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1.
Zach Blackham put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Blackham wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carter Keisel, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Manti's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for Millard, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Millard couldn't quite get it done against Manti in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as they fell 14-9. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
