After a string of three wins, the York Prep Patriots's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Andrew Jackson, falling 96-27. York Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 65-14.
Tamia Watkins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Andrew Jackson, dropping a triple-double on 36 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Watkins has scored at least a third of Andrew Jackson's points. Ayona Alexander was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals.
York Prep now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Andrew Jackson, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
York Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cheraw at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Cheraw is ranked 170th, while York Prep is ranked 169th). As for Andrew Jackson, they will head out on the road to challenge Chesterfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chesterfield is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
