It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Cypress Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bishop Kenny and snuck past 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cypress Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kingston Baez, who scored 15 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Kevin Edou, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Lake Mary came up short against Lake Brantley on Friday and fell 54-43.
Cypress Creek's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Lake Mary, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3.
