Baseball Recap: Vallivue Wins Going Away Against Caldwell

Vallivue had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Caldwell on Thursday. The Falcons were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Eli Daniel made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

Daniel wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colt Augustus, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI. Those five runs gave Augustus a new career-high. Another was Gage Warrington, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base.

Vallivue was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Caldwell only posted a batting average of .280.

Vallivue's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Caldwell, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
