The Archbishop Riordan Crusaders will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Los Gatos Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Archbishop Riordan on the road against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory as the squad secured a 49-19 victory. Given Archbishop Riordan's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Archbishop Riordan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isitolo Tuugamusu, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Tuugamusu was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. Tyrone Jackson was in the mix too, providing Archbishop Riordan with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Los Gatos entered their tilt with Menlo-Atherton with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Los Gatos blew past Menlo-Atherton 30-6.
Boxer Kopcsak-Yeung was his usual excellent self, rushing for 154 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Thomas, who picked up 96 receiving yards.
Archbishop Riordan's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Los Gatos, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
