The Brockway Rovers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-38 walloping at the hands of Curwensville. Brockway has not had much luck with Curwensville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Brockway's loss came despite strong showings from Ben Yale and Aiden Patton. Yale scored four points along with five rebounds, while Patton scored six points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him.
Leading Curwensville to victory were Parker Wood and Davis Fleming. Wood scored 21 points along with nine rebounds, while Fleming scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wood has scored at least 25% of Curwensville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Swanson, who scored nine points along with five assists.
Brockway bumped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Curwensville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brockway will take on Ridgway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Curwensville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in West Branch's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
