North Central is 0-4 against Ottawa Hills since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The North Central Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Ottawa Hills Green Bears at 7:30 p.m. North Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Friday, North Central came up short against Montpelier and fell 55-44. North Central has not had much luck with Montpelier recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
North Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Joe Burt, who scored 16 points along with two steals, and Ben Pettit who scored 15 points. It was the first time this season that Pettit scored 15 or more points.
Meanwhile, Ottawa Hills pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Emmanuel Christian. While losing is never fun, Ottawa Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 393rd, while Emmanuel Christian is ranked 70th).
North Central has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Ottawa Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.
North Central suffered a grim 66-44 defeat to Ottawa Hills in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can North Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
