Caney Valley lost a close one when they played  last Tuesday but unfortunately for them the  defeat they were handed  on Monday was a bit more commanding. Their  rough  11-1 loss to the Copan Hornets  might stick with them for a while. Caney Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Copan apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in March.
  Carson Leach put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also only allowed one  walk). Leach was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
 Leach wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Cooper Brim, who  went 1-for-1 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Caney Valley and  nudges their season record down to 13-9. As for Copan, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caney Valley will take on Afton at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Copan, they will look to defend their home field  on Thursday against Welch at 12:30  p.m.
