Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo Central). They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Pueblo Centennial 88-50. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 278th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Glenwood Springs better keep an eye on Ladamien Davis. He was instrumental in Pueblo Central's win, dropping a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Davis is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 13 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Blondin, who posted 16 points and five boards.
Glenwood Springs now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Pueblo Central, their record is now 13-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Glenwood Springs has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Pueblo Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Glenwood Springs won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, slipping by Pueblo Central 60-59. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Davis, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Glenwood Springs still be able to contain Davis? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
