While losing is never fun, Big Sandy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1124th, while Jefferson is ranked 298th).
When it comes to explaining why Big Sandy lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Ka'myrie Fountain. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with eight assists and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Petty-johnson, who scored ten points.
Big Sandy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Jefferson, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Big Sandy will take on New Diana at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Daingerfield at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th.
