The Carrollton Cavaliers's six-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Michigan Lutheran Seminary out 57-55. That 57-55 margin sets a new team best for Carrollton this season.
Despite the loss, Michigan Lutheran Seminary saw an underclassman step up: Noah Reif dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for Reif. Caleb Iles was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Carrollton's victory bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Michigan Lutheran Seminary, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Carrollton will head out on the road to face off against Standish-Sterling at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Michigan Lutheran Seminary will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ithaca at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
