The Pike County Bulldogs suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 47-24 loss at the hands of New Brockton. Pike County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-3.
New Brockton was led to victory by Gabriella Eubanks and Casey Williams. Eubanks scored nine points along with six steals, while Williams scored 13 points along with two steals. Williams hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Aniya Barkley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
Pike County bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.2 points per game. As for New Brockton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pike County will take on Opp at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for New Brockton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Straughn at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Straughn is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
