The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Franklin. Wilcox-Hildreth was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Franklin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Wilcox-Hildreth lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dagan Ortgiesen, who scored 13 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Ortgiesen grabbed two or more steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Donley, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds.
Franklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eldon Haack, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Haack hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Isaac Haack, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Wilcox-Hildreth dropped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Franklin, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13.
Wilcox-Hildreth won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Overton at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Overton is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Franklin, Franklin and Blue Hill will face off at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
