They really took it to Mattamuskeet for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-34 victory at home. With Hobgood Charter ahead 49-20 at the half, the match was all but over already.
It was another big night for Hudson Roberson, who scored 32 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Hobgood Charter's points. Another player making a difference was Zyhe Higgs, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Hobgood Charter now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Mattamuskeet, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hobgood Charter will take on Community Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Community Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 contests -- so hopefully Hobgood Charter likes a good challenge. As for Mattamuskeet, they will head out on the road to challenge Pungo Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pungo Christian Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
