The Estero Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the North Fort Myers Red Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Estero is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Estero was able to grind out a solid victory over Palmetto Ridge, taking the game 8-5.

Evan Goeller and Drue Overmyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Goeller pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Overmyer tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Goeller posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. At bat, Goeller scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Overmyer got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Goeller also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Sandro Hernandez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Estero always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmetto Ridge only posted an OBP of .469.
Meanwhile, North Fort Myers came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Seahawks a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Red Knights have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Harrison Kabel looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Junior Tome was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Alejandro Velez Rodriguez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
North Fort Myers picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Estero, their record now sits at 5-2.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Estero has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. However, it's not like North Fort Myers struggles in that department as they've averaged .475. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
