Baseball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Anna's Winning Streak

Anna dropped their record down to 16-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 9-2 to the Indian Lake Lakers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rockets have suffered since April 13, 2024.

As for Indian Lake, they now have a winning record of 11-10. They not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23rd (when they won 8-0).

For Indian Lake's part, Tyler Tidwell made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Tidwell a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Tidwell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madden Lillard, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Lillard has posted since back in April. Another was Cooper Hall, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anna will host Russia at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Indian Lake, they will be taking part in a tournament against Urbana at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
