The Zion-Benton Zee-Bees's eight-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They snuck past Harvard with a 42-36 victory. The victory was just what Zion-Benton needed coming off of a 51-24 loss in their prior match.
Leading Zion-Benton to victory were Kevyon Wells and London Davis. Wells scored 15 points along with six rebounds, while Davis scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her.
Zion-Benton's win bumped their record up to 3-13. As for Harvard, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-6.
Zion-Benton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Waukegan at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Harvard will finish 2023 at home by hosting South Beloit at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (South Beloit is ranked 553rd, while Harvard is ranked 570th).
