After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cardinal Gibbons, The Broughton Capitals were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 42-35 win over Sanderson. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Broughton's three-point performance the match before.
Broughton was led to victory by Owen Vogler and Johnnie Davis. Vogler threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt, while Davis gained 144 total yards and three touchdowns. Chauncey Sumpter did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 111 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Sanderson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Brilison McCullers, who rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns. Tabion Elliott also helped out as he racked up 102 rushing yards.
Broughton's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Sanderson, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6.
Broughton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sanderson also has no future games currently scheduled.
