Gibbs scaled the state rankings by moving to 297 from 335 this week, the biggest jump in 5A District 8. The Gladiators were able to move up by defeating Clearwater 48-13.
Dunedin fell to Osceola 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Boca Ciega's Derrick Cook and Sirkendric Bedinnes led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cook has thrown for 880 yards this season, while Bedinnes, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 21 catches for 279 yards. Tarpon Springs's Michael Ford leads the league in rushing yards with 615.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Gibbs takes on the Spongers. Rick Kravitz's team is in third place, while Tarpon Springs is in first place.
The Gladiators made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,584 from 6,773. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 48-13 victory over the Tornadoes last week.
