Plantation is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game back in December of 2024. They took a blow against Piper, falling 56-24.
Geriyah Williams was Plantation's leading scorer, having posted five points. Williams also led the team in rebounds with eight.
Meanwhile, Nova faced Montverde Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Nova had to suffer through a 64-35 loss at the hands of Montverde Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Titans have suffered since December 12, 2023.
Plantation will need focus on slowing down Jaelynn Housey, one of several Nova players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 18 points. Housey's evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of J'Yan Tyrell, who put up four points along with five boards and three steals.
Plantation's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Nova, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Plantation has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Nova struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Plantation took a serious blow against Nova when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 61-8. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tyrell, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 17 rebounds.
