This season hasn't been kind to The Chestatee War Eagles, who are still winless after their eighth game. They suffered a rough 45-21 loss at the hands of Cedar Shoals on Friday. Chestatee has struggled against Cedar Shoals recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Chestatee saw an underclassman step up: Benjamin Plemons rushed for 197 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry.
Cedar Shoals had a senior duo take command as Anthony Hubbard threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes and Devin Hester gained 129 total yards and two touchdowns. Kayden Scott was in the mix as well, providing Cedar Shoals with two touchdowns.
Chestatee's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. As for Cedar Shoals, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
Chestatee will head out on the road to face off against East Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Forsyth presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chestatee in Georgia (East Forsyth is ranked 203rd, while Chestatee is ranked 409th). As for Cedar Shoals, they will be playing at home against North Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
