Doddridge County was sadly handed a defeat on Monday, but Tessa Mayle did her best to prevent it. Despite the loss, Mayle was still locked in as she struck out nine batters over 8.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Mayle and Doddridge County will challenge South Harrison at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sadly, Mayle's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Bulldogs' eight-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, Mayle and the Bulldogs surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Tuesday's match.
