Softball Recap: Central Cabarrus Wins Going Away Against Robinson

Central Cabarrus won the last time they faced Robinson and things went their way on Friday too. Central Cabarrus was the clear victor by a 13-2 margin over Robinson. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Central Cabarrus got a massive performance out of Haley Rezy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Rezy has posted since back in April of 2024. Kinley Hood was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

Central Cabarrus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .696. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Central Cabarrus pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Robinson, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Cabarrus will challenge Concord at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Concord will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last. As for Robinson, they will face off against East Rowan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Rowan's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so Robinson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
