Even though Magnolia West scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Rudder still came out on top. Rudder enjoyed a cozy 77-59 win over Magnolia West.
Rudder's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Randon Cooks, who scored 20 points along with eight assists and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooks has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Campbell, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Brenham's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 78-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of A&M Consolidated. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Rudder's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13. As for Brenham, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.
