After flying high against Johnson County Sports Association last Friday, Stephenville FAITH came back down to earth. The Stephenville FAITH Knights took a 47-32 bruising from Texas Wind on Monday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Stephenville FAITH still got an impressive performance from Esmerelda Cervantes, who went 8 for 18 on her way to 18 points and four steals. Cervantes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.
Texas Wind found their leader in freshman Jai Johnson, who posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Shelby Kuykendall was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five boards and three steals.
Stephenville FAITH's defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4. As for Texas Wind, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
