West Florida and Navarre are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The West Florida Jaguars will take on the Navarre Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Florida has nine straight victories, Navarre has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
West Florida had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Walton on Monday. West Florida never let Walton get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Jaguars yet this season.

The team relied heavily on Adam Geiger, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Another player making a difference was John Hatch, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
West Florida always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walton only posted an OBP of .174.
Meanwhile, Navarre lost 10-3 to Jay on Friday.
Gavin Gray was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Navarre saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Gilbert, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Logan Hand was another, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
West Florida's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Navarre, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. West Florida has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Navarre struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
West Florida beat Navarre 4-1 when the teams last played on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Florida since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
