Montview recap September 17, 2013
Alex Salgado of Workman ran for the longest rushing play in Montview this season against Marshall last week. Salgado ran for 60 yards on the play and finished with 213 on the day as his team defeated the Eagles.
Workman moved up to 925 from 990 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Eric MacIntyre's team was able to make move up by besting Marshall 40-26.
Salgado was the best running back in the league this week.
Andre Long was the best receiver in Montview this week as the Lobos bested Jim Arellanes' team. Long tallied 8 receptions for 110 yards. Salgado helped Workman's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 31 yards.
Salgado was a passing and rushing force as Workman bested the Eagles.
Jacob Tovar put up the best numbers in passing as La Puente fell to Arroyo. He finished with 11 completions for 155 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tovar's favorite target this week was Jose Ochoa, who caught 4 passes for 87 yards.
Salgado was a beast in the backfield as the Lobos beat Marshall.
The Warriors' Tovar and Ochoa have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Tovar has thrown for 411 yards this season, while Ochoa has 8 catches for 220 yards. Salgado from Workman leads the league in rushing with 507 yards.
Azusa was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to fourth in the league. The Aztecs beat Maranatha 33-14 earlier in the week.
