The Springfield Southeast Spartans had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Lanphier, posting a 57-23 win at home. The victory was just what Springfield Southeast needed coming off of a 70-34 defeat in their prior match.
It was another big night for Marisa Gant, who scored 21 points along with seven steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Springfield Southeast's points. Navehua Collier was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Springfield Southeast's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Lanphier, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Springfield Southeast will head out on the road to face off against Decatur Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lanphier will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jacksonville at 2:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
