Everett and Snohomish are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Seagulls will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Everett fell victim to Meadowdale and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. The Seagulls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Everett saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luca Morales, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Snohomish had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. Everything went their way against the Tomahawks as they made off with a 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Rider Walsh made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Enzo Porletto looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
Snohomish's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Everett, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Everett has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Snohomish struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everett beat Snohomish 5-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Seagulls repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
