Football Recap: Pawling Starts Season with Win Against Eldred

Pawling had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 49-36 victory over the Eldred Yellowjackets. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Eldred's loss came despite strong showings from Koen McGill and Connor Ranaudo. McGill rushed for 137 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, while Ranaudo gained 205 total yards and three touchdowns. McGill was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards.

Eldred's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pawling will welcome Sullivan West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eldred, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Livingston Manor-Roscoe Central at 7:00 p.m. The game will give the Yellowjackets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
