Hoxie took their match against Corning on Friday by a conclusive 51-20 score. That's another feather in the cap for Hoxie, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Hoxie's offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 44 first-half points. Corning countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 44-6 going into the half. Although Hoxie wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war. The win got them back to even at 3-3. Corning are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-6.
Next week Hoxie take on Piggott at 7:00 PM. Unlike Hoxie, Piggott will be limping in after taking a loss. As for Corning, they will face off against Walnut Ridge. Corning's defense better steel itself: Walnut Ridge are averaging 31.33 points per game.
